Showcase of the Thuringian start-up scene: Rising start-ups present innovations

The start-up world in Thuringia blossomed at the TRIP Class 23/24 Demo Day, when ten promising companies from the fifth batch presented their innovative ideas and further developments. Six of these up-and-coming start-ups are now preparing intensively for potential investment opportunities in the final class.

With TRIP, we promote regional innovations and support start-ups on their way to investment readiness. The Demo Day on 6 March at the Mehnert Lab in Erfurt offered the Thuringian startup community the opportunity to follow the progress of TRIP Class 23/24 and exchange ideas about the latest technologies. The opening speech was given by Christiane Kilian, Director of STIFT, followed by a welcome address from Dr Katja Böhler, State Secretary at the Thuringian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Science and Digital Society.

After a five-month programme of expertise, monthly workshops, individual coaching and financial support, the teams presented their business concepts in an eagerly awaited three-minute pitch. For the first time, the guests also had the opportunity to test and scrutinise the start-ups’ prototypes. The teams presented their innovations hands-on at individual tables.

Six outstanding projects were selected by the TRIP jury for the Final TRIP Class:

  • AWW – Alternativ Wärmetechnik Wolf (Brotterode-Trusetal)
  • DeepEn (Jena)
  • Healyan (Barchfeld-Immelborn)
  • in|stead (Jena)
  • Linkdlab (Jena)
  • Teamera (Jena)

The selected teams are characterised by their enormous growth potential and cover a wide range of industries, including life science, optics, metrology, medtech and automation solutions. The final TRIP class focuses on preparing the start-ups for venture capital financing. Over the next three months, exclusive investment readiness modules will be offered. The programme will conclude with a pitch on 5 June 2024 on the stage of the Investor Days Thuringia (IDT).

In addition to the finalists, the four other teams that were awarded a community ticket were also given access to the event day. They were also allowed to exhibit in the innovation arena. VE.PLANT was also given a place on the IDT pitch stage.

The IDT is a networking event for startups, growth companies and investors from all over Germany, where startups have repeatedly found investors in the past.
